Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding star duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze, even as they continue to be strongly linked to Manchester United.

United are gearing up for a very busy transfer window that will see them address multiple positions across the pitch.

Midfield and attack are believed to be some of the areas Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are eager to bolster. Eze and Olise have been mentioned as targets in this respect.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United will rival Tottenham Hotspur for Olise’s services.

Meanwhile, Olise is thought to be a name that features very highly on the Red Devils’ wishlist and there is a belief that the club is leading the race to sign the electric French winger.

It was stated that Palace will not entertain any offers below the the £60m mark for either of the two.

United were treated to a stunning show of what Eze and Olise could both bring to Old Trafford when they combined excellently to sink the 20-time English champions in a 4-0 hammering at Selhurst Park last week.

On that occasion, Olise bagged a brace while Eze proved to be a dominant force to reckon with in the middle of the park.

Understandably, Glasner – who has worked wonders at Palace since he arrived – has stated his desire to keep them.

The Australian coach spoke to reporters and said, “I hope all the players will be here. I know the club will do everything to ensure they will play for Crystal Palace next season.”

“I think what we can show from the sports department is that we are ambitious and they can benefit and make a big contribution to being successful. That is what we can offer them, the rest we will see.”

“I can’t keep doing the same thing and getting results like that, so we need to look at it.”

Glasner added, “It’s not a crisis and we won’t rip everything up and start again, but we need to adjust to the group we now have.”

Olise and Eze are out of contract with the Eagles in 2027.

Manchester United face yet more competition from within the Premier League in the race for the signature of Michael Olise. Now, Newcastle United have also joined the chase.

The Frenchman was sensational on Monday night in Crystal Palace’s dominating 4-0 win over United, demonstrating his skill, creativity and goal scoring threat that has made him one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League.

Olise found the back of the net twice against a beleaguered United side and could easily have had a hat-trick if he hadn’t spurned a couple more glorious chances.

For United’s part, they have struggled massively this year to create for their strikers as Bruno Fernandes is the team’s top scorer and Rasmus Hojlund has bagged only 14 goals in his debut season.

Therefore, it has been widely reported for a while now that Olise is a key target for United in the upcoming transfer window.

With Dan Ashworth’s arrival as sporting director held up due to a court case with his current employers Newcastle, the summer window has been difficult to plan for the Red Devils.

However, one name that INEOS have reportedly pre-approved is that of Olise, reflecting how convinced they are by the 22-year-old’s potential.

However, The Daily Mail are reporting that there could be a potential spanner in the works for United. With chances of losing Ashworth to the Red Devils, the Magpies have plotted their revenge.

The paper claims that “Newcastle are rekindling interest in Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise.”

The Magpies “are making a late push to qualify for Europe themselves and will hope the ambition of their project can help convince Olise they are serious contenders.”

Sadly for United, Newcastle are not the only threat to a potential deal. There have been recent reports of Aston Villa feeling bullish about their chances of landing the player and as usual, Chelsea are also lurking in the background.

United’s lacklustre end to the season and the very real possibility that they could be the only team among the aforementioned quartet not to be able to offer European football next season, could seriously hurt their chances of landing the exciting star.

However, Olise is said to be very keen on a move to United.

In addition, the player has also been described as an “avid” fan of the club as a child, so perhaps nostalgia will pull at his heart strings when he needs to decide where his next destination will be.

Chelsea are reportedly planning to disrupt Manchester United’s attempts to secure the signings of Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise and Vitor Roque of Barcelona.

United are planning to reinforce their attacking department and both Olise and Roque have been mentioned to be targets for the club.

Chelsea prepared to offer players to beat United to Olise

Olise in particular is believed to be a player that INEOS and the United scouting division are in agreement about. The Red Devils were treated to a show of his ability and what he can bring to Old Trafford as he scored a sensational brace against them during the 4-0 hammering at Selhurst Park on Monday.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Chelsea had backed out of the race to land Olise but it has now been claimed that the Blues still want him and are even putting measures in place to beat interested parties like United to his services.

According to The Boot Room, Chelsea “are ready to offer players in exchange” to the Eagles in an effort to avoid paying his £60m release clause.

Options such as Armando Broja and Trevor Chalobah are believed to be “in the mix” while Mauricio Pochettino’s side are also understood to be prepared to hand them  England international Raheem Sterling.

The problem for Chelsea is that Sterling – who has three years left on his hefty contract at Stamford Bridge – has no interest whatsoever in leaving the club as he knows he would almost certainly have to take a pay cut.

Sterling’s refusal to part ways with Chelsea could ultimately go a long way in spoiling the London club’s attempts to snatch Olise from under United’s nose.

United face competition for Roque

As mentioned, it’s not only Olise that Chelsea want to beat United to. Roque is also drawing attention from the 2021 Champions League winners.

It was recently relayed that Roque, who joined Barca just months ago, is already contemplating an exit from the Camp Nou as he’s unhappy with his situation under Xavi.

The Brazilian has only made 11 appearances since he joined them and his agent added fuel to the fire when he admitted that unless things improve, they will be looking for solutions in the summer transfer market.

United were mentioned as a possible destination for the 19-year-old striker. However, if the 20-time English champions intend to add him to their ranks, they will have to ward off competition from Chelsea if a report by Spanish newspaper AS is anything to go by.

The publication states, “Vitor Roque’s situation is about to become a volcano ready to explode. The forward, who has not been able to enjoy minutes since his arrival from Athletico Paranaense last January after paying his weight in gold (30 million fixed plus 31 in variables), is at a crossroads. While FC Barcelona is testing the option of a loan so that he can acclimatize to European football.”

“Old suitors like Tottenham [Hotspur], with whom almost everything was agreed upon before leaving for Camp Nou, or Napoli have once again knocked on the striker’s door, although they are not the only ones.”

“Other Premier clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea would also have tested the possibility of signing him, although everything will depend on several departures beforehand.”

United must remain vigilant of Chelsea’s potential impact in the transfer market, particularly if they secure European football at the Reds’ expense.

In the case of Olise in particular, United cannot afford to give Chelsea the edge.

Manchester United hardly put up a fight and eventually succumbed 0-4 to a rampant Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday.

Manager Erik ten Hag was forced into making a few key personnel changes due to mounting injury concerns and while a visit to Selhurst Park was always going to be a difficult challenge, such a miserable capitulation was certainly not expected.

Casemiro, who played as the right-sided centre-half, had a nightmare out on the pitch and was seen everywhere except for the role assigned to him.

He kept sliding in trying to win the ball back, and Michael Olise skipped past him with ease on a number of occasions including for the first of his two on the night.

Olise was the star on Monday

The Eagles star, who is reportedly United’s only approved summer target, was on fire and his display surely enhanced his chances of earning a move to The Theatre of Dreams.

The 22-year-old has nine goals and four assists in 12 starts in the Premier League this season and if not for injury concerns, Olise would definitely have bagged a lot more.

The 20-time English league champions’ problems on the right are well known with Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood likely to be moved on while the club is desperately trying to sell big-money flop Antony this summer.

The Frenchman would be the perfect signing but as Football Transfers have now revealed, Aston Villa are confident that they can outmanoeuvre the Manchester giants in the race.

Olise wants regular minutes and is unlikely to be satisfied with a place on the bench. Arsenal, who are also interested in the winger, can therefore be safely ruled out as they already possess the likes of Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.

The Peoples Person had relayed that the forward wants to play in the Champions League and Villa are in a position where they can offer the same, unlike Ten Hag’s side.

Villa take surprise lead

The report further adds that stability is important for the former Reading ace and with Unai Emery recently signing a contract extension, Villa are in a much better position than United.

INEOS are unlikely to keep Ten Hag on considering the season the club had and another new manager coming in could signal yet another shift in style that could affect Olise should he choose to sign for the Reds.

“Aston Villa are confident they can outmanoeuvre Arsenal and Manchester United in securing the signing of Crystal Palace star Michael Olise, FootballTransfers can exclusively reveal.

“We understand that the in-demand Olise aims to join a Champions League team next season and secure a spot as a regular starter, prioritising his playing time over sitting on the bench.

“This development would undoubtedly be a big blow to Premier League leaders Arsenal. The prospect of regular game time is diminished at the Emirates due to established players like Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard having already cemented their roles in similar positions.

United set to lose Olise race

“As for Manchester United, their probable lack of European football makes securing Olise’s signature highly unlikely.

“The uncertainty over the Red Devils’ managerial situation also counts against them, particularly as Unai Emery has recently signed a new contract with the Birmingham outfit.”

Villa sporting director Monchi is confident that he can help Emery’s team win the race for the France U21 international. It will be interesting to see how INEOS respond.

Surely they will not lose a race for a target they have been desperate to acquire since buying 27.7 percent of the club.

The post Crystal Palace would prefer to sell Marc Guehi than Michael Olise appeared first on Man United News And Transfer News | The Peoples Person.

]]>

Crystal Palace are more willing to sell defender Marc Guehi than Manchester United;s primary target, Michael Olise.

Despite how poor United were in Monday night’s defeat at Selhurst Park, the Eagles were equally impressive and the arrival of Oliver Glasner has really breathed life into the football club.

In Guehi, Olise and Eberechi Eze, the London based side is also in possession of three of the most exciting prospects in the division.

The Red Devils clearly need upgrades in a variety of positions and they have been linked to both Guehi and Olise numerous times.

However, there seems significantly stronger rumours attached to Olise, who is reported to be the one approved INEOS target, despite the fact future sporting director Dan Ashworth still hasn’t officially arrived at the club due to his ongoing court case with Newcastle.

The Frenchman was at his sensational best on Monday night as he tore into United’s beleaguered defence and helped himself to two long range goals, which will have done no harm to his chances of securing a move to a bigger club.

However, GIVEMESPORT‘s most recent update could spell trouble for United’s dreams of bringing in the creative star.

“Crystal Palace are more open to cashing in on central defender Marc Guehi than offloading Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze after boss Oliver Glasner has started putting plans in place ahead of his first full campaign at the Selhurst Park helm, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.”

This is probably due to the fact that Guehi has barely featured under the new manager due to injury, only making his first appearance under Glasner off the bench in the resounding victory over United earlier this week.

“Palace will not entertain allowing Guehi, Olise and Eze to embark on a fresh challenge when the transfer window reopens in the coming weeks, but they are refusing to rule out the possibility of cashing in on one of their key men as it would boost Glasner’s budget.”

However, “GMS sources have been told that Olise is more likely to move onto pastures new than Eze as he has gained more interest than his teammate despite his hamstring problems.”

In addition, “Manchester United could offer Olise a route out of Selhurst Park as they are keen to add homegrown talent to their ranks ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, and he would count towards the top flight quota despite being capped by France at under-21 level.”

It has been reported that a deal could already be complicated to for the Frenchman as United will not have any Champions League football next year but the withdrawal of Chelsea from the race to sign the exciting spark can only be seen as a positive for the Red Devils.

The player is certainly an exciting potential addition to Old Trafford and has been described as “confident and creative, capable of carrying the ball forward, dribbling through traffic and delivering penetrative yet delicate passes and crosses.”

Therefore, if United are to convince Palace to sell they may have to pay quite a bit more than they originally anticipated for him, in a summer window where every penny is going to count.

Manchester United looked to put the disappointing draw against Burnley behind them and improve their prospects of qualifying for the Europa League when they travelled to Selhurst Park to face an in-form Crystal Palace side.

To keep up with United’s rotten luck this season, the team suffered further injuries with Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes ruled out of the clash.

Erik ten Hag started Andre Onana in goal with a defensive four of Diogo Dalot, Casemiro, Jonny Evans and Aaron Wan-Bissaka ahead of him.

In midfield, the Dutchman deployed Kobbie Mainoo, Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount.

Rasmus Hojlund led the line with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony flanking him on the left and right wings respectively. Here are three things we learned from Manchester United’s 4-0 loss vs. Crystal Palace.

Casemiro a liability at centre-back

Amidst United’s injury crisis, Casemiro has in recent games been forced to play at the heart of the backline and he was once again used on that part of the pitch against Palace.

To say the Brazilian was exposed would be an understatement. His fingerprints were all over at least three of Palace’s four goals.

For the first goal, Casemiro abandoned his position and drifted into the middle of the park. He recklessly dived into a tackle in an effort to take the ball away from Michael Olise, but the Frenchman easily evaded him to completely take him out of the game. Olise then ran towards Onana’s goal and expertly found the bottom corner.

For Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal, Casemiro was once again dragged into midfield and left Evans all alone and isolated at the back. Mateta produced a fine piece of skill to beat Evans before firing a powerful shot that beat Onana.

Casemiro was also at fault for Palace’s fourth and Olise’s double in the second half. His casual handling of the ball near the corner flag saw him easily dispossessed before the ball was fed to Olise. The Palace forward made no mistake as he curled the ball into the back of the United net, past the reach of a helpless Onana.

Despite having less possession, Palace deserved their victory as they were significantly the better team. They created the most chances and posed the greatest danger.

Beyond his defensive lapses that cost the Red Devils, Casemiro’s passing – as has been mostly the case this term – was erratic and he often failed to find a teammate.

The Palace attackers found plenty of joy down Casemiro’s side as he was either out of position or just not proactive enough to snuff out danger.

The 32-year-old is also susceptible to being beaten during races as he’s lost one or two yards of pace with age. It’s clear that playing Casemiro at centre-back has little benefit, if any. United would be best served by restoring him to a more familiar role in central defensive midfield.

Ahead of the game against Arsenal this weekend, Ten Hag will be hoping that a few players currently recovering from physical setbacks make their returns to action so that he’s not forced to have Casemiro in the backline.

Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze should be at the top of United’s summer transfer wishlist

Olise and Eze are reportedly targets for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS ahead of the summer transfer window – they showed why they’re so highly rated against United tonight.

Beyond his goals for the South London outfit, Olise was a constant thorn in the backside of the United defence. His class shone throughout the match. He displayed moments of brilliance in the way he cleverly danced around with the ball at his feet.

Olise kept the ball well even under pressure and never seemed fazed. The 22-year-old could have had more goals to his name. A cut-back in the first half from Mitchell found him on his favoured left foot but luckily for United, Onana was alive to it and came up with a good save.

The Palace winger linked up well with Eze, a formidable partnership that Ten Hag’s men struggled to deal with.

Eze, who United have also been linked with, was fantastic in midfield and showed United exactly what they’re missing. He found it very easy to get about the pitch due to his amazing dribbling and quick feet.

After the break, the England international had two big chances to find the back of the net. One was saved by Onana while the other went just wide.

The duo’s talent is undeniable and based on their respective displays at Selhurst Park, they’re certainly ready to make the jump to a club like United. The 20-time English champions could do with players of their skill set and abilities. In addition to this, they’re Premier League-proven and young. They still have plenty of room for improvement. United should do everything in their power to ensure they’re playing at Old Trafford next season.

No merit in keeping Ten Hag any longer, owners must pull the trigger now

Since Ratcliffe and INEOS walked through the door, it has been repeatedly mentioned that they’ll delay their final decision on the manager until the end of the season. The new owners have been undertaking a thorough audit of the club to identify areas of improvement.

With this in mind, it’s becoming increasingly clear with each passing game that United need to part ways with Ten Hag. In yet another game, United were poor and were humiliated by perceived lesser opponents.

Palace were first to everything and it’s mostly down to Oliver Glasner, who arrived just a few weeks ago as a replacement for Roy Hodgson. In such a short space of time, Palace look like a new side with a clear style of play – something Ten Hag has been unable to implement since he took charge in 2022.

United continue to be poor and it doesn’t get any easier. Up next is Arsenal and then Newcastle before facing Brighton on the final day of the season. There is then the small matter of an FA Cup final against Manchester City. With such a run of fixtures and on current form, it’s very difficult to see where United will get their next win from.

Ten Hag has of course not been aided by constantly-occurring injuries to his key players and an incompetent structure above him but he has also not helped his own cause. There’s nothing to suggest that United would be the subject of a change of fortunes if he’s given more time and money to spend. Even worse are the excuses he gives in press conferences and interviews.

INEOS would be making a big statement by letting him go immediately rather than prolonging the inevitable. With other European giants also on the hunt for managers, United risk missing out on their desired targets by continuing to keep Ten Hag. At the very least, fans should be given clarity and assured that he won’t be in charge next season.

The pressure was already on Manchester United but the weekend’s results have turned up the heat even more.

After Chelsea and Newcastle United’s convincing wins, United have to turn up away at Crystal Palace to maintain their push for any European place at all.

Palace have started to rediscover their mojo under Oliver Glasner and on their day, are capable of playing some breathtaking stuff.

In their past four games, they’ve already knocked off Liverpool and Newcastle, a run which also included a 5-2 home victory over West Ham United.

This game is the definition of a banana skin for a struggling United who never look in control of any game. Here are the three tactical themes that will decide the game-

Pressing machine vs panic stations

Oliver Glasner was famed for his relentless pressing style in the Bundesliga as he is another from a factory of Bundesliga coaches branched from Ralf Rangnick’s “gegenpressing” philosophy.

Unfortunately for United, a pressing team is the worst matchup for this jittery buildup. Even Burnley’s comparatively relaxed press got an error out of United last weekend as Onana gifted them a goal. If it’s not the keeper, it’s a midfielder or a defender panicking under the press.

This game will be the fight of a pressing machine in Palace vs United’s perpetual panic stations, especially with Harry Maguire leaving United with zero completely fit centre-backs as Jonny Evans might have to be rushed back.

Michael Olise vs Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Could this be Michael Olise’s big audition for a Manchester United move in the summer? First off, it is not yet certain if Ten Hag will play Wan-Bissaka on the left or Diogo Dalot.

Last year, Wan-Bissaka would have been the easy answer because of his shutdown defensive qualities but that version of the player is missing now. In his place is an underconfident fullback who struggles as much in defence as he does in attack.

Olise is not the kind of player he would want to face. The Frenchman has truly announced himself to elite clubs with his silky play this season. He finds pockets of space and pops up with the occasional golazo. Wan-Bissaka defending on his wrong side (he’s right-footed) might make it even more difficult for him when Olise’s fullback overlaps and makes a two-on-one situation on the wings.

Garnacho will have to run his socks off to protect whoever United’s left-back is because Olise is a handful.

Rasmus Hojlund vs Dean Henderson

It’s a part of the script, isn’t it? United’s academy kid gets sold to Premier League rivals and has a worldie against his old club when he has a point to prove.

Henderson has long put behind his jittery start at Selhurst Park and is now showing the qualities that once had people marking him as a future England No 1.

He will be extremely motivated to show United what they missed out on by outperforming Andre Onana on the day. A victory will be even sweeter.

Rasmus Hojlund needs to step up and spoil his day. The Dane looked like he was back in scoring touch after his effort against Sheffield United but Burnley was another step back.

He struggles to get involved in games and has a pure poacher-like game sometimes where he isn’t doing anything if he isn’t scoring. He needs to do just that if United are to avoid the double ignominy of not just losing to Palace, but giving Henderson something to celebrate about.

Manchester United appear to be in with a fighting chance of signing priority transfer target Michael Olise.

Believed to be a “pre-approved” signing by INEOS, United are expected to pull out all the stops to bring the Crystal Palace winger to Old Trafford.

The club seems to be in dire need of some fresh legs on the wing. Marcus Rashford has been a shadow of his former self this season, while Antony, despite a goal at the weekend, has long proven to be an unreliable option.

Although Alejandro Garnacho has enjoyed a fine season despite having to play majorly on the right wing, he has struggled as of late – perhaps an indication that he is being overplayed.

With his price tag reported to be £60 million, Olise could prove to be great value for money, however, the lack of a release clause means that a bidding war could ensue thus pushing his price upwards.

Furthermore, the structure of his contract would require a portion of his transfer fee to be paid to his previous club Reading as well as a percentage to the player himself, making a potential deal more complex.

Last week, however, United received a major boost in their pursuit of the Palace star. As relayed by The Peoples Person, Chelsea appear to have withdrawn their interest as they seek to strengthen their squad in other positions.

Now that United have seemingly fewer rivals in the race to sign Olise, a deal this summer appears increasingly likely. What’s more, former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan is of the belief that a summer deal is possible.

“Everyone is going to be looking at Olise and [Ebere] Eze and that is a big challenge for Palace,” Jordan explained in an interview with talkSPORT, acknowledging that both players have become transfer targets for major clubs.

“I think you’re probably in a situation where Michael Olise signed a new contract last year predominantly to protect Palace’s value in the next set of negotiations,” Jordan explained.

“But if Man United come, or Liverpool or Arsenal come, the player forms part of the problem because he then goes; ‘Well, I love it here but I want to go to this bigger football club. Now, I want to go.”

Should the allure of joining a larger club appeal to Olise, then United may be in with a chance to lure him to Old Trafford this summer.

Still, the club will be concerned that Erik ten Hag was unable to secure Champions League football next season, which could be to United’s detriment should a side in the top four decide to join the race to sign Olise.

Manchester United have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Michael Olise as Chelsea have been ruled out of the chase for the winger.

The Red Devils have struggled massively for wing play as a series of unfortunate events have weakened the attack this campaign.

Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho for different reasons have been exiled from the squad and have been sent out on loan to Getafe and Borussia Dortmund.

Erik ten Hag’s big money signing Antony has continued to massively underwhelm and has failed to justify even a quarter of his £86m price tag.

Despite impressing in his limited playing time, Amad Diallo continues to have that playing time tightly rationed.

Finally, the biggest disappointment of all has been the insipid form of last year’s star Marcus Rashford.

Therefore, United have been heavily linked to wingers and Michael Olise has certainly been the most repeated name as it has been reported that he is the only “pre-approved” target by INEOS despite the complexities of a potential deal due to the convoluted nature of his release clause.

The Crystal Palace star is also said to be keen on the deal but the Red Devils have been braced for competition from other Premier League teams such as Arsenal and Chelsea.

However, it seems that the side from Stamford Bridge may make the path a little clearer for the Red Devils and provide the Mancunian side with a significant advantage in the race for the Frenchman.

90Min report that “Chelsea do not currently plan to reignite their interest in Olise and they are not rivalling United for his signature this summer at this stage”.

“Chelsea believe they are well-stocked in Olise’s primary positions, not least because of the success of Palmer, and are prioritising strengthening in other areas instead”.

The Londoners also have the bad experience of last summer when they believed they had triggered a £35m release clause in the winger’s deal but were told this was not the case by the Selhurst Park side.

In further good news for INEOS, the website also reiterates what other sources have said that “Michael Olise would be open to a summer transfer to Manchester United should the Red Devils firm up their interest in him”.

The Frenchman is an incredibly versatile attacker and has been described as despite being “a player still relatively early in his development, Olise has impressed in these different attacking roles. There is no doubt he is an exciting player, and it would seem he has an exciting future, too”.

There is little doubt that this is not the last we have heard of this deal as it seems almost certain at this moment that the Red Devils will intensify their interest in the 22 year old once the curtain falls on this Premier League season next month.

Manchester United will reportedly need to surmount one huge obstacle that may ultimately force them to part with more millions in their bid to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Olise is thought to be a prime target for United, who are set to dip into the summer transfer window for reinforcements in the attacking department.

In the right-wing position especially, United need more quality options. The ineffective Antony has proven to be a massive disappointment and his days at Old Trafford certainly seem to be numbered.

The Brazilian was poor once again during the club’s most recent clash, a 4-2 win against Sheffield United.

Combine Antony’s disappointing displays with the fact that Jadon Sancho – currently on loan at Borussia Dortmund – is a player United are keen on permanently parting ways with amidst his bitter spat with Erik ten Hag, and it makes sense why United are weighing up a move for Olise.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that both the Red Devils’ scouting division and INEOS are in agreement about Olise being the right profile of player to add to the ranks at Old Trafford.

Despite his season being ravaged by injuries, the Frenchman has still put up very impressive numbers. He has so far this term plundered seven goals and four assists in 15 Premier League appearances.

He has particularly struck a formidable partnership with Eberechi Eze and Palace appear to be a more dangerous prospect when the two of them are sharing the pitch. They’ve started only six top-flight clashes together but in that period, they’ve scored or assisted 13 of the London outfit’s 14 goals.

According to BBC, the Eagles will only entertain offers for Olise and Eze that start at the £60m mark or more.

Both their deals have release clauses but the newspaper notes that they’re not the normal type fans have become accustomed to.

It’s understood that a deal for Olise could be slightly difficult to get over the line because there is a portion of money that needs to be paid out not only to his current employer, but also to his former club (Reading), and even the forward himself.

BBC notes, “Palace feel that £60m per player is the starting price for interested teams if they want to enter negotiations. Both Olise and Eze signed long-term deals this season so Palace are in a strong negotiating position.”

“Neither contract contains a straightforward release clause and any deal will be complex with percentages due to the players’ former clubs, the players themselves and Crystal Palace.”

The outlet adds, “The players are happy at Palace and are keen to make sure that any potential move is one that benefits them, with a particular focus on picking a team that will allow them to show their ability on the ball and demonstrate their attacking flair.”

It’s easy to see why United are eager to land Olise. The 22-year-old ranks in the 98th percentile for both goals and assists in the Premier League.

He’s also in the 93rd and 94th percentiles respectively for shots taken on shots on target – the Palace star is a danger on goal and would bring this to United.

In this campaign, Olise has delivered 26 key passes and 79 crosses. In these metrics, he ranks in the 96th and 98th percentile respectively.

Despite the stipulated complexities in any transfer for Olise, United should not be deterred in their attempts to make Olise the latest player to sport the prestigious red colours and badge.
